Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC seeks a teacher of record for Mountain Community Online School in North Carolina to lead live virtual instruction for grades 4–8 and drive student achievement in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.

The role requires an active NC teaching license, knowledge of state standards, and the ability to collaborate with families and school leadership while traveling for in-person testing and events.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina teaching license in appropriate content area
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Two years’ teaching experience preferred
• High level of comfort in growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Ability to manage confidential information
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor
• Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference based on student need
• Complete course setup for each course within the Learning Management System
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback/grade assignments daily
• Track and maintain contact with each student
• Collaborate with Principal to create and deliver Progress Reports of Students
• Review student level data to inform instructional program adjustments
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Utilize research-based best practices in both synchronous and asynchronous instruction
• Communicate regularly with families regarding academic and socio-emotional growth
• Travel to support required face to face state testing annually
• Perform other duties as assigned
