Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks an online teacher of record for K-12 core content in Ohio. This remote role requires traveling a few times per year for state testing and events.

You will deliver live lessons, monitor progress, and collaborate with the principal to report student progress. Must hold an Ohio teaching license and demonstrate culturally responsive instruction; compensation starts around $43,000–$51,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Ohio teaching license.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years’ experience teaching.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
• Pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as teacher of record in core content areas and grades.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture and accountability.
• Deliver live lessons via web conference based on student need.
• Complete course setup for each course within the LMS.
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback daily.
• Track and maintain contact with each student.
• Collaborate with Principal to create Progress Reports of Students.
• Review student data to inform instructional program adjustments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners.
• Use research-based best practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
• Create a joyful, caring classroom environment.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices daily.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding growth.
• Incorporate 21st century technology skills daily.
• Plan and attend non-instructional activities and events in person.
• Collaborate respectfully with colleagues.
• Travel to support required face-to-face state testing annually.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
