Job summary

The Cleveland History Center is seeking an entry-level, part-time museum educator to support the PK-12 Education Coordinator. You will help plan and deliver standards-based programs, tours, and public programs while assisting with outreach and on-site learning experiences.

You will engage diverse learners from pre-K to postsecondary, contribute to teacher professional development, and work with the Education Team to ensure engaging, accurate presentations and activities across exhibits and

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and youth in structured environments.
• Desire to teach and work with learners of all ages.
• Public speaking experience.

• Ability to work with a wide range of museum personnel and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and tact in professional settings.
• First Aid/CPR/AED training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates learning using standards-based, inquiry-based school and youth field experiences.
• Engages with multigenerational audiences by giving tours and interacting with guests.
• Ensures on-time preparation for programs, tours, and museum interpretation shifts.
• Prepares materials, sets up sites, and handles program cleanup and custodial duties.
• Assists in development, piloting, promotion, and evaluation of school programs and events.
• Supports special events and signature programs as needed.
• Works with security and front-line staff to ensure guest safety.
