Job summary

Miami University seeks a Curator of Education and Community Engagement to develop and implement educational programming and community outreach for the RCCAM and McGuffey House and Museum. You will partner with the Museum Director and staff to transform education in preparation for the Fall 2027 reopening.

The role involves coordinating tours, developing curricula, and expanding partnerships with schools and community organizations, while guiding docent and student educator teams and supporting

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Art Education or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in Art Education, Museums, or Public Programming.
• Experience developing curriculum and educational materials; supervising students/docents/volunteers; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for diverse audiences.
• Schedule and coordinate tours, visits, and group experiences.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to align programs with goals.
• Cultivate relationships with local schools and community partners.
• Coordinate public programs (workshops, lectures, talks, events) to support exhibitions.
• Create educational materials (lesson plans, sheets, content) and support docents/volunteers.
• Track participation and analyze engagement to improve impact.
• Assist with marketing/communications for education initiatives.
