The role requires a journalism degree (or equivalent) and hands-on newsroom experience, with a digital-first mindset and strong writing skills to inform and engage audiences across screens.

Qualifikationen

• A journalism pedigree: you have a degree in journalism (or equivalent experience) and understand news ethics and storytelling.
• Hands-on experience: campus news station and internship where you did the work.
• Digital-first mindset: comfortable posting to social media as you are producing a 6 PM block.
• Sourcing skills: know how to work a phone, build relationships, and uncover information.
• Software savvy: ENPS is a plus; able to learn newsroom systems.
• Flexibility and grit: thrive in fast-paced news environments and pivot when stories break.
• Killer writing skills: clear, compelling, accurate writing for TV and web.

• Own the story cycle: proactively find, update, and elevate local stories that impact the community.
• Drive multi-platform urgency: get information into newscasts and digital platforms quickly and accurately.
• Be the interviewer: ask tough questions and dig for truth in coord interviews.

• Craft conversational scripts: write engaging copy for broadcast and streaming.

• Navigate the newsroom: use ENPS and other systems to keep operations smooth.
