Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc.–WTRF is seeking a Multimedia Journalist Reporter to produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit and feed news content for broadcast and digital platforms. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent, 1–2 years’ reporting experience, English fluency, and a strong on‑air presence with proficient video editing and social

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluency in English; excellent written and oral communication.
• Ability to ad lib and communicate clearly under deadlines.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in news reporting.
• Superior on-air presence; strong interview and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency with shooting and editing video; proficient with social media.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Writes news stories for broadcast, CTV and digital platforms describing background and details of events.
• Conducts interviews and develops contacts for stories.
• Shoots live shots for broadcast and events; produces content for multiple platforms.
• Develops enterprising stories and original ideas; researches background information.
• Pitches stories to managers and producers relevant to the local community.
• Live reports for daily newscasts, including breaking news and events.
• Writes web stories in WordPress and engages audiences on social media.
