Job summary

Hurley Middle School in Seekonk, MA seeks a qualified Math teacher for a long-term substitute position. Immediate start through December 18, 2026, reporting to the Building Principal.

Responsibilities include planning, instruction, and using MA frameworks to support diverse learners. Required: licensure in Mathematics (5-8) by the MA DESE or eligibility; strong communication; commitment to current teaching practices; ability to collaborate with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Licensed, or eligible for licensure in Mathematics (5-8) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.
• Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
• Ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents, and staff.
• Experience in teaching honors/AP courses a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans for the assigned curriculum with written evidence of preparation.
• Use appropriate instructional strategies and materials addressing students with IEPs or 504 Plans.
• Collaborate with staff to align goals with MA Curriculum Frameworks.
• Use technology to support teaching and learning.
• Assess student learning with formative and summative methods and adjust instruction.
