Job summary

Kent Consortium is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support middle school learners, including preschool, Title I, and special education students. The role emphasizes assisting in reading, writing, and mathematics readiness, along with collaboration with teachers and families.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics instruction; readiness programs as appropriate.
  • Must meet physical examination requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Tutor individuals or small groups, reinforcing instruction and tracking student progress.
  • Collaborate with instructional team and remediation teams, build relationships with parents.
  • Assist in administering tests, score results, and monitor IEP requirements.
  • Support classroom operations: materials prep, copying, attendance records.
  • Set up work areas and displays, operate AV equipment and training devices.
  • Promote safe, inclusive learning environments and student independence.
