Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Education, Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or related field.
• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Theatre/Drama or appropriate related licensure.
• Demonstrated knowledge of drama/theater instruction and middle school learners.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based drama instruction for middle school students.
• Teach foundational theater skills, including acting, improvisation, movement, voice, script analysis, and ensemble performance.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Assess student progress using a variety of performance-based and classroom-based measures.
• Provide opportunities for students to develop confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills through drama.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school community and Fine and Performing Arts Department.
