Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Requires a valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with an endorsement in Business Education.

Responsibilities

• Uses a variety of teaching methods to meet student needs.
• Develops instructional materials for the classes assigned.
• Collaborates with other faculty members.
• Coordinates a local program advisory committee.
• Maintains an active CTSO (FBLA).
• Assists students in making informed career decisions in business.
• Instructs students in job-seeking skills and helps them locate employment and pursue further training.
• Works with guidance counselors to support career training and student needs.
• Maintains inventory records of non-consumables.
• Passes annual TAPE Review.
• Ensures safety for students, equipment, and facilities.
• Performs related duties including meetings and professional development.
• Creates a classroom/lab environment conducive to learning.
• Administers industry-approved credential exams.
• Cooperates with post-secondary institutions in curriculum articulation.
• Carries out annual professional development plan as required.
• Completes Technical updates per State Department standards.
• Contacts parents regularly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
