Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. You will assist with patient intake, clinical procedures, specimen collection, recordings, and care coordination to support safe, patient-centered care.

You may float between clinic locations and travel to assigned sites based on operational needs; administrative tasks include referrals, authorizations, and documentation to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Phlebotomy training certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Valid California Driver License (Float Pool Medical Assistants only).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant program certificate.
• 6 months experience in front and back medical office functions.
• 5 years experience in a practice acquisition context.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake, clinical procedures, documentation, and care coordination.
• Perform venipuncture and other designated clinical duties as permitted by supervision.
• Coordinate referrals and authorizations; maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate with patients, providers, payers, and departments to support continuity of care.
• Potentially float between clinic locations as operational needs require.
