Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Connecticut facilities. The role supports providers in ECMPF medical office settings, performing both administrative and clinical duties with focus on accuracy and patient service.

We value teamwork, confidentiality, and strong computer skills. The position requires a high school diploma, MA program or certification, and may include float to other offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or MA certification/registration required.
• 5+ years of MA experience may substitute for MA program.
• 5+ years as Nurse Assistant or CNA with 1 year MA-related experience also qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination per established office protocol.
• Maintain patient chart information per requirements.
• Document all medications dispensed in the chart.
• Provide vaccine program oversight following State guidelines.
• Restock rooms and ensure exam rooms are ready for the day.
• Keep inventory of medical supplies and report needs.
• Report malfunction of medical equipment.
• Assist physician with office procedures and perform EKG and Spirometry as ordered.
• Schedule referrals and outside testing as directed by physician.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
