Job summary

Cattaraugus-Allegany-Erie-Wyoming BOCES is seeking a Mathematics Teacher for Elm Street Academy to develop student skills in fundamental and advanced math, and to connect theory to real-world problems.

You will plan lessons, deliver instruction, assess progress, and adapt for diverse learners under the supervision of the School Principal. NY State Certification in Mathematics Education is required; a Bachelor's in education is required, and a Master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• NY State Certification as a Mathematics Education Teacher (#029 or #229)
• Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching
• Masters degree preferred
• Successful prior teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers mathematics curriculum aligned with district goals
• Promotes a safe, engaging classroom for individualized and small group instruction
• Plans lessons and materials to optimize time and learning
• Teaches mathematics concepts including algebra, geometry, calculus and related areas
• Assesses student progress and adjusts instruction to meet needs
• Maintains records of student achievement and communicates with parents
• Collaborates with staff and participates in meetings and committees
