Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements with accommodations for individual student differences.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology reflecting student needs and state policies.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEP guidelines.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals and methods per district requirements.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers, and oversee completion.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Be a positive role model and support the school district's mission.
• Create a conducive classroom environment and manage student behavior per policy.
• Prepare reports and maintain required documentation.
• Establish open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
• Participate in staff development and comply with regulations and policies.
