Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to assist RNs in patient care tasks in accordance with NYS LPN scope of practice. The LPN will perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKGs as certified, while upholding NYULH policies and HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Graduate of LPN program with NYS licensure and registration.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently in a team environment.
• Physical stamina and dexterity required.
• Preferred: BLS certification, pediatrics experience, phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient centered quality and performance improvement programs.
• Maintains current LPN knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
• Collects patient data systematically using appropriate assessment techniques.
• Administers medications per clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
• Ensures patient care documentation and chart availability for physicians.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to promote caring environment.
