Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Active North Carolina teaching license preferred or required for long-term substitution.
• Three years teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Provide meaningful instruction to students.
• Review and implement regular classroom routines, procedures, lesson plans and instructional strategies.
• Participate in grade-level meetings, faculty meetings, student intervention teams and other committees normally assigned to a regular classroom teacher.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment for all students.
• Take reasonable measures to protect students, facilities, and materials.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to students, families, and school personnel.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses or any breach of the district's Code of Student Conduct to the school administration as soon as possible.
• Willingness to substitute in any grade level or course as assigned by the school.
• Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in performing other related duties as assigned.
• Perform related work as assigned or required.
