Hearst Television’s WMTW-TV in Westbrook, Maine, is seeking an Anchor/Reporter. You will bring live reporting energy to the desk, enterprise big stories, and guide newsroom staff. You’ll write/edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind and report to the News Director.

The role demands versatility, speed, accuracy, and the ability to work under tight deadlines, with the salary range of $70,000–$87,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of anchor experience required.
• 2+ years of reporting experience required.
• Your demo reel is indicative of your everyday work.
• Anchor connects with viewers in addition to reporting skills.
• Operate mobile transmission devices and use latest technology.
• Can work in all weather conditions, varied shifts incl. overnights/weekends, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license with clear driving record.
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
• Can handle stresses of time-sensitive newscast production.
• Related military experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
• Guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
• Plan, gather and assemble stories on day-of news or special projects.
• Develop stories with enterprise angles and exclusive content.
• Build a network of sources for tips and early access to information.
• Appear at public events on behalf of the station.
• Provide pictures, video and text updates to mobile platforms throughout the day.
• Work on multiple stories/projects and meet deadlines.
• Summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
