Job summary

Brody & Shemwell, APC, a Downtown San Diego firm, is seeking a paralegal with civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, diligent, and able to work independently while communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, legal research, e-filing, calendar management, and supporting attorneys in the firm’s routine and high-profile matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
• Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Legal research as directed by attorneys.
• Electronic filing of documents in state and federal courts.
• Prepare exhibits and supporting documents for motions, depositions, trials.
• Assist in managing calendar of court deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors.
• Perform other administrative tasks and general office support.
