Job summary

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Temporary Librarian to deliver exceptional customer service and information services in a fast-paced, full-service library environment. You will staff the information desk, present story times, and help develop innovative programs for the public using current technology.

You will work with adults, children, and teens, collaborating with Supervising Librarians and staff on collection development and community outreach. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA‑accredited program.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, full‑service library environment.
• Ability to work with patrons of all ages and provide reader's advisory services.

Responsibilities

• Staff information desk for Adult Services and Youth Services.
• Plan and present programs such as story times and reading activities.
• Develop library content using current technology and resources.
• Engage with the community and participate in grant programs and special projects.
