Job summary

ATX Learning in Providence, RI is seeking a temporary elementary school teacher to cover a LOA (Nov 16, 2026 to Dec 23, 2026) for the Lower School. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and involves implementing differentiated instruction and maintaining classroom order.

The incumbent will collaborate with school staff, prepare materials, assess progress, and communicate with families to support student learning and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• RIDE Educator Certificate preferred.
• National background check after offer.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
• Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and health.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction and activities.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using varied methods.
• Communicate clearly the objectives for lessons to students.
• Confer with parents/guardians and staff to address progress and issues.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by policy.
• Prepare students for later grades and encourage perseverance.
