Job summary

Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind in Phoenix seeks a Teacher Itinerant Deaf/HH to provide quality instruction and develop IEPs for students in statewide itinerant programs. The role supports deaf/hard-of-hearing students and requires a teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement, FBI and state background checks, and strong collaboration with staff.

The position is 40 hours per week in a 10-month calendar with a limited-time appointment.

Qualifications

• College/University degree in Education with coursework specific to sensory impairments.
• State of Arizona Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement for each position.
• Secondary teaching positions must possess the necessary coursework as required by Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction to students
• Prepare daily lesson plans
• Evaluate student's skills to determine the best program of learning
• Write and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP)
• All other duties as assigned
