Capital City Sports Academy in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEP goals and to implement behavior improvement plans within a collaborative instructional model.

The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, coordination with teachers, and family communication to foster student growth and social-emotional development in a public charter school serving EK-8 students.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities, and assist in intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and progress.
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
