Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC's Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida seeks a Virtual High School Social Studies Teacher to lead live lessons and manage courses in a statewide online program. You will serve as teacher of record across core content, monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and communicate with families; occasional in-person testing and events are required.

Qualifications

• Current State teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years’ teaching experience.
• Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes.
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in all core content areas and grade levels.
• Meet goals related to student achievement, culture, and state accountability.
• Deliver effective live lessons via web conference based on student needs.
• Complete course setup in the Learning Management System.
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback daily.
• Track and maintain contact with each student.
• Collaborate with Principal on Progress Reports of Students.
• Review student data to inform instructional adjustments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Integrate 21st-century technology into daily lessons and team settings.
• Travel to support required face-to-face state testing annually.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
