Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six semester hours of coursework in childhood education, OR two years of work experience in a childhood setting.
• CPI certification may be required depending on school and student population; training provided by WCPSS.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to teachers in classroom activities.
• Aids in planning and organizing, evaluating instructional activities, and preparing materials.
• Demonstrates professional and technical skills to support the school program.
• Works with individual students or groups in various classrooms as needed.
• Participates in district staff development and ongoing professional growth.
• Maintains a positive disposition; exercises good judgment around students.
• May conduct vision and hearing screenings and record results in EASi; recertification provided if needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
