Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks an Instructional Aide at Western Toledo Preparatory Academy at Hill Avenue in Toledo, Ohio. This role supports teachers, promotes positive student behavior, and helps ensure a safe, constructive classroom environment across academics and extracurriculars.

Responsibilities include assisting with lessons, activities, and events; completing clerical tasks; and aiding with classroom tech and facility upkeep.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or Paraprofessional Exam completed.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• BCI/FBI check completed.
• Ability to meet educational standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support lessons taught by the teacher and follow plans.
• Help plan classroom activities and support parent relations.
• Assist with school activities and coordinate events.
• Perform clerical duties such as grading and copying.
• Assist with classroom technology.
• Help maintain classroom and lunchroom cleanliness.
• Uphold the school’s philosophy and mission.
• Perform other duties including field trips and duty rotations.
