Job summary
Gallup-Mckinley County Schools is seeking an Athletic Coach – JV Boys Basketball for Crownpoint High School. On-site attendance and weekend/evening commitments are expected to lead the program and develop student athletes.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalency, and hold or be able to obtain the NM Athletic Coaching License (7-12) with the Fundamentals of Coaching exam. Prior coaching success and strong leadership are essential.
Qualifications
- Must attach a signed Permission to Coach Form with the application.
- Must hold or obtain Athletic Coaching License (7-12) and pass the Fundamentals of Coaching exam.
- Experience coaching in major sports and ability to supervise a total sports program.
- Head coach should be knowledgeable and a positive role model for student athletes.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training.
- Oversee and coordinate high school coaching staff under the athletic director.
- Develop teamwork, discipline and character through sport education.
- Plan practices and prepare teams to compete during the season.
