Job summary

Oklahoma City Public Schools seeks a Secondary HS Teacher – Foreign Language for Capitol Hill High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will design flexible programs, build rapport with students, and motivate learners to develop language skills in alignment with district standards.

You will implement state and district guidelines, prepare engaging lesson plans, and communicate student progress to families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• Oklahoma Secondary Education Certification or approved alternative.
• Highly Qualified in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Native American Language, Russian, Spanish, American Sign Language, Greek, Turkish.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community.
• Ability to follow state and district guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Teaches a foreign language to pupils in a classroom using the approved state curriculum.
• Instructs pupils in citizenship and required subject matter.
• Develops lesson plans and provides individualized instruction.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
• Maintains fair and clear grading patterns based on defined criteria.
• Establishes a respectful, safe classroom climate for learning.
• Evaluates student progress and maintains records and progress reports.
• Communicates with parents regarding pupil progress and school programs.
• Interacts professionally with pupils, staff and parents.
• Collaborates with staff to support pupil needs and health concerns.
• Participates in School Improvement initiatives and relevant professional growth activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports contingency plans for health crises.
