Job summary

Foothills Area YMCA seeks a Water Fitness Instructor to lead energizing, safe group water exercise classes, welcoming all participants and adapting to diverse health needs to help them achieve goals. Maintain class safety, attendance records, and respond to emergencies.

Required certifications: national water aerobics, CPR/AED, First Aid and Child Abuse prevention within set timelines; at least one year of group class experience preferred; commitment to ADA compliance and inclusion.

Qualifications

• National water aerobics certification required within 60 days of hire.
• First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
• One year of group exercise teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to inclusion and ADA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe water fitness classes as directed by supervisor.
• Create welcoming environment and adapt activities to participants.
• Maintain class attendance records and safety procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and administer CPR/First Aid as needed.
• Build positive relationships with members and celebrate progress.
