Job summary

YWCA Central Carolinas is seeking a part-time Group X Instructor – Water to lead safe and effective water exercise classes at our Park Road campus in Charlotte. Responsibilities include planning classes, maintaining safety, and delivering high-quality instruction with excellent customer service.

Requirements include High School Diploma or GED, instructor certification (ACE/ACSM/AFAA or equivalent), CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and at least one year of class instruction experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Instructor certification through ACE, ACSM, AFAA or other recognized organization.
• One year of class instruction experience preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (AHA or Red Cross endorsed) required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Instruct safe and effective water and land group exercise classes.
• Plan and adjust class formats, ensure equipment and music are prepared.
• Deliver high-quality instruction with excellent customer service.
• Enforce safety standards and respond to incidents per policy.
• Maintain accurate attendance and class prep to support operations.
