Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast is seeking a friendly Group Exercise Instructor for the Greater Ridgecrest Branch. The role involves delivering safe, engaging group workouts, planning choreography, and ensuring participant safety while upholding YMCA guidelines.

Opportunities include morning and evening classes and a pay rate based on qualifications. Must be at least 16, capable of teaching at least one format, and complete YMCA starter trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and able to teach at least one group exercise format.
• Must complete required YMCA trainings upon hire (Cause & Culture, Service, CARE).
• CPR, AED and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Familiarity with safe exercise guidelines per YMCA practices.

Responsibilities

• Instruct safe, effective and fun group exercise classes under supervision.
• Prepare room, select music and create engaging, safe choreography.
• Maintain equipment and keep the space clean and organized.
• Demonstrate proper form, cue participants clearly and supervise class safety.
• Attend trainings and meetings; cover classes when needed.
