Qualifications

• Valid group exercise instructor certification required; NCCA accreditation preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of group class instruction experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction for varying fitness levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled with modifications for different fitness levels.
• Understand contraindicated exercises and ensure safe and effective approaches.
• Record participation numbers after every class.
• Arrive early for setup and ensure class starts on time and area is cleaned afterward.
• Report equipment needs or broken equipment to supervisor immediately after class.
• Demonstrate accountability by avoiding missed classes and arranging substitutes as needed.
• Provide a fun and engaging experience for participants.
• Work toward meeting departmental and organizational goals.
• Be flexible with center hours and work schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
