Job summary

The Salvation Army's Kroc Center Chicago is seeking Group Exercise Instructors to lead engaging classes aligned with members' fitness goals. You will deliver prepared workouts that are fun, energetic and suitable for all levels.

Applicants should have an associate or BA in sports/PE, 2+ years of teaching group classes, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and comfort with computer-based systems. This on-site role offers a competitive benefits package and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate or BA in Sports/Physical Education, or related field preferred.
• Two or more years experience teaching various or specific group exercise classes and working with fitness equipment.
• Must have current credentials and/or certificates and /or license, if required.
• Experience with a computer based work environment.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in assigned group exercise subject.
• Be on time and prepared to teach class.
• Provide state of the art group exercise instruction that contributes to each member's fitness goals.
• Develop and instruct fun, energetic and highly motivational exercise classes for all fitness and skill levels.
• Teach beginners through advanced learners in the fitness programs.
• Provide individual and group guidelines for development in fitness programs.
• Communicate class changes to participants efficiently.
• Maintain a safe learning environment.
• Adhere to safety measures and report hazards.
• Maintain professional demeanor with students and staff.
