Job summary

Gold's Gym is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead members in a group format, enhancing overall fitness, strength and endurance while prioritizing safety. The role educates participants on fitness concepts and proper technique.

You will prepare classes, monitor form, and create a motivating, engaging environment. Certifications such as ACE/AFAA/ACSM and specialized credentials are preferred; six months of group-ex experience is required.

Qualifications

• Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM or equivalent.
• At least six months teaching in a group exercise format.
• Ability to lead safe, structured workouts and educate members on fitness.

Responsibilities

• Arrive 10–15 minutes early to engage with members and assess fitness levels.
• Introduce class format clearly and ensure participants understand instructions.
• Monitor form, offer modifications for all fitness levels and keep a positive atmosphere.
• Create a motivational environment and ensure safe equipment use throughout class.
• Ensure class starts/ends on time and arrange substitutes if needed.
• Attend staff meetings and complete time records when required.
