Job summary

Gold’s Gym is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead classes in a group setting, guide members through structured workouts, and educate on fitness concepts. You will ensure safety, assess new participants, and maintain an engaging, positive class atmosphere.

The role requires a six-month teaching track in group settings, strong communication, and the ability to troubleshoot audio equipment. Certification with ACE/AFAA/ACSM or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months teaching in a group exercise format.
• Knowledge of safe exercise technique and group exercise principles.
• Knowledge of basic physiology and body mechanics.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead members through a prearranged format of exercises in a group environment, ensuring safety.
• Arrive early (10–15 minutes) to prepare and orient new participants.
• Introduce the class format and assess first-timers’ fitness levels privately.
• Provide clear verbal instructions and manage music volume and atmosphere.
• Monitor participants’ form and offer suitable variations for all fitness levels.
• Create a motivational and fun class environment.
• Post-class: reset equipment, answer questions, collect feedback, and ensure room is ready for the next class.
• Avoid offensive music; prepare appropriate music and ensure equipment is functioning.
