Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor at the Charlestown YMCA to lead energizing, safe group classes for a diverse membership. You’ll support members’ health goals, stay current with wellness trends, and build community within classes.

The role requires at least 1 year of group exercise experience, NCCA certification, and current format certifications where applicable. CPR/First Aid are required, with YMCA benefits and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in group exercise.
• NCCA accredited certification (ACE, AFFA, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, etc.).
• If teaching a specific format, current certification required (e.g., Yoga, Spin, Body Pump/Body Combat).
• Experience in health and wellness programming and group instruction.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and engaging group classes for members and guests.
• Answer questions and support members in achieving health goals.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends through courses and training.
