Job summary

Sheafer + King Modern is seeking a capable Gallery Associate to support daily gallery and auction house activities. The role involves assisting clients, preparing social-media materials, packing and shipping artworks, and helping hang displays within a small gallery setting.

The successful candidate will be dependable, art- and design-minded, and comfortable interacting with customers. Flexible start date is available, with opportunities for skill growth and expanded responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday availability is required for full-time employees.
• Some college education or equivalent relevant experience.
• Ability to work responsibly and shift among different priorities in a small‑business environment.
• Comfort interacting with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with social media and online marketing.
• Welcome and assist customers in the gallery and provide thoughtful customer service.
• Pack and ship artwork, design objects, and auction purchases.
• Help with daily gallery operations, including setting up displays, hanging artwork, and keeping work areas organized.
• Assist with auction and gallery preparation as needed.
