Job summary

Forward Air Corporation in Salt Lake City is seeking dedicated Cargo Handlers to support our fast-paced shipping/dock operation. You will load and unload freight on 53 ft trailers, using scanners to track shipments and ensure accurate labeling and preparation for shipment.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally. Forklift certification is preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Forklift knowledge is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload 53 ft trailers and operate scanners.
• Use handheld scanners to track and maneuver freight.
• Label boxes and prepare freight for shipment.
• Safely load/unload using hand trucks/pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Obtain forklift certification and operate forklift and other machinery as required.
• Verify documentation and condition of freight to ensure quality.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 90 pounds.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
