Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf in Virginia seeks a part-time Fitness Instructor to develop classes for varied fitness levels, teach safe equipment use, and assist members during workouts. The role reports to the Spa & Fitness Director.

The position requires First Aid/CPR, excellent communication, and strong customer service. Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends, with focus on member experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of prior experience and class instruction preferred.
• Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other safety certifications as required by the Club.
• Group certification and experience with a 55+ audience preferred.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the BlueStar experience for members and guests by modeling standards and adhering to policies.
• Help monitor the facility for member and guest safety.
• Create and facilitate safe and engaging classes for all fitness levels.
• Talk with members about fitness classes and help them choose routines.
• Maintain a professional instructor-client relationship.
• Report incidents or accidents to the Assistant Spa & Fitness Director and stay current with facility calendar.
• Promote programs and activities that support members’ personal and social goals.
• Know all spa services offered and suggest beneficial treatments.
