Job summary

WABC is seeking an experienced general assignment reporter on an as-needed basis. The role requires reporting across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms, with early mornings, nights, and weekends.

You will build sources, pitch enterprise stories, and deliver compelling reporting with journalistic integrity. The position is part-time, in New York, NY, and covered under the SAG-AFTRA-WABC-TV agreement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience reporting in a top 20 market is expected.
• Demonstrated sound editorial judgment and commitment to accuracy and integrity.
• Experience as a TV news reporter or multimedia journalist is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, pitch, research, and report original stories for multiple platforms.
• Report live from the field during breaking news and major events.
• Build and maintain sources to generate exclusive reporting.
• Write and produce content for broadcast, digital, social, and streaming.
• Collaborate with producers, assignment editors, and newsroom leaders to deliver coverage.
• Represent the station professionally in the community and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
