Job summary

Descanso Gardens Foundation is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Crew Member responsible for the proper setup and strike of all events held at the Gardens, and for the care and maintenance of Special Events equipment. The role supports client facilities needs and protects garden assets while maintaining security during events.

This is a Full-Time, non-exempt hourly position with hours 6:30 am - 11:30 pm, Monday through Sunday, including holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and staff.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency for routine tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical work.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Completes tasks coordinated by the Facilities Crew Coordinator.
• Ensures proper opening and closing procedures for the Gardens.
• Supports events for rental and internal clients, including pre-event setups and post-event breakdowns.
• Directs visitors and vendors to event locations and manages access during events.
• Reports issues to the Coordinator and documents any damage to assets.
• Performs custodial duties and assists with cleaning of public spaces.
• Keeps facilities inventory up-to-date and submits work orders for repairs.
• Assists with emergencies and adheres to safety trainings.
