Job summary

ReNEW Schools in New Albany, IN, seeks an Elementary Specialist - Physical Education (PE) to supervise and guide elementary students through engaging PE lessons, uphold a positive classroom environment, and support district wellness goals. You will implement provided PE curricula, collaborate with administrators, and may coordinate an extra Field Day activity that adds about 15 hours of planning time.

A high school diploma or GED plus paraprofessional testing or Praxis ParaPro is required, with

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus paraprofessional test or Praxis Para Pro.
• Must hold a substitute permit.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Supervising students
• Maintaining word wall, ICAN statements, and safe and positive classroom environment
• Implement and instruct provided physical education lessons in a timely manner to ensure cohesiveness in all elementary schools.
• Communicate with administration about the possibility of 1 extra-curricular day (Field Day) that would be compensated for an extra 15 hours of time to plan and implement.
• Ensure subfolder including all necessary materials, including lesson plans, is up to date, and easy to find.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
