Job summary

Springfield Public Schools in Western Massachusetts is seeking a qualified Mathematics teacher for grades 1–6. You will plan lessons aligned to district goals, foster a positive classroom environment, and communicate clear objectives to students for each lesson and project.

The role requires MA DESE licensure in Mathematics for grades 1–6, a Bachelor's degree with a valid license, and Master’s degree with the appropriate content license is preferred within five years.

Qualifications

• Must hold MA DESE Mathematics content license for grades 1-6.
• Bachelor's degree with appropriate license; or Master's with content-area license preferred within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Instruct assigned classes and plan a program of study aligned to district goals.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student needs.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide reports to parents as required.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Plan and supervise paraprofessionals and participate in professional growth and evaluations.
• Attend meetings and contribute to district curriculum, budget and facilities discussions.
