Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Daily Substitute Teacher to cover Solon, Strongsville, and Westlake areas. The role involves delivering lessons, differentiating instruction, and maintaining student progress records within an urban education context.

You will work in a growth-focused coaching environment, collaborating with staff and engaging families about student growth, with technology integration and various non-instructional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching environment, frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience working within urban environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify as needed during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Incorporate school-approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice.
• Participate in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
