ACCEL Schools is seeking a Daily Substitute Teacher to cover Solon, Strongsville, and Westlake Prep Academy, delivering engaging lessons and supporting student learning. The role emphasizes differentiating instruction, maintaining records, and fostering a positive classroom climate.

Candidates must hold an active Ohio teaching license, possess a bachelor’s degree in education, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Urban-education experience and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Utilize school approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
