Job summary

Responsibilities include collaborating with special education staff, using diverse instructional strategies, and maintaining professional relationships with families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• One year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, and materials that reflect students' needs and TEA guidelines.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for IEP goals.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals and methods.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and monitor completion.
• Be a positive role model and support the school district mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior.
• Maintain records and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
