Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation in restaurant or food industry.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, handling, and sanitation.
• Experience in dietary departments or with dietary aide teams is highly desirable.
• Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and service teams.
• Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations.
• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality output.
• Prior experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
• Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and utensils
• Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative dishes that align with dietary requirements and customer preferences
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning workstations, utensils, appliances, and floors regularly
• Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery schedules
• Ensure all food is prepared adhering to recipe specifications, portion control, and quality standards
