Job summary

Blue Ridge Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join our clinical team in Columbus, NC. This role supports scheduling referral and specialty appointments and maintains patient records in our EMR system.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, with LPN/MA experience in primary care preferred, and strong organizational and communication skills to ensure accurate referral follow-ups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant with primary care/ambulatory care clinical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology required.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems and/or previous referral coordination preferred.
• Ability to organize, communicate and perform detailed functions required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule referral and specialty appointments for patients in coordination with medical providers.
• Maintain electronic medical records according to departmental guidelines and ensure follow-up for referral appointments.
• Communicate with medical providers and BRCHS patients to follow up on referrals.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support patient care workflows.
