Job summary

Blue Ridge Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Referral Coordinator to join our Behavioral Health Team in Hendersonville, NC. This full-time clerical role coordinates incoming referrals, schedules appointments, and ensures accurate medical records within the EMR system.

Responsibilities include transmitting referral data, entering registration and insurance details, and supporting providers in obtaining patient records to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• Must-have: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or familiarity with behavioral health or primary care settings is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronic medical record information related to referrals and ensure accuracy.
• Enter registration and insurance information for new and existing patients into the system.
• Schedule internal appointments and manage same-day appointment requests.
• Assist providers in obtaining patient records when needed.

What You'll Do:

The Behavioral Health Referral Coordinator is an integral member of the clinical team of BRH and works in cooperation with the Behavioral Health team members to schedule incoming referrals. Responsibilities include:

• Receive and track all incoming referrals for behavioral health services.
• Responsible for proper maintenance of all electronic medical record information related to the referral process, which may include, but is not limited to transferring, retrieving, creating, and repairing records.
• Assumes responsibility for correctly entering all required registration and insurance information on established and new patients into the computer. Also, periodically verifies above information to ensure that it is still correct
• Schedules internal new and established appointments via computer while directing same day appointment calls and walk-ins appropriately.
• Assists providers in requesting patient records when needed.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant with primary care/ambulatory care clinical experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems and/or previous referral coordination preferred.
• Ability to organize, communicate and perform detailed functions required.
• Strong interpersonal skills
