Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking an experienced clinic administrator to lead administrative direction across one or more clinics.

You will coordinate operations with executives, physicians, and external partners to meet directives and resolve problems. You will develop staffing plans, manage labor costs, and ensure staff are properly trained, scheduled, and compliant with confidentiality and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2 years of direct managerial or supervision experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, leadership and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional integrity and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to interact, communicate, and follow-up with individuals at all levels of the organization in a timely manner with poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership and patient experience skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software. Knowledge of medical office operations and systems; familiar with guidelines regarding patient confidentiality issues, OSHA, Joint Commission, customer service, and knowledge regarding the clinical operations and needs of a medical facility.
  • Preferred: LPN or RN licensing and experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall administrative direction and coordination of clinic(s) while serving as liaison with all levels of administration, physicians, patients and outside organizations to coordinate clinic business and resolve problems.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains an organizational structure, systems, and staffing plan to meet clinic goals and ensure timely, resource-efficient responses.
  • Manages all aspects of clinic operations while controlling labor costs and clinic expenses.
  • Maintains knowledge of staff responsibilities.
  • Manages assigned staff including hiring, training, supervising, engagement, performance management, scheduling, and payroll approvals.
  • Initiates coaching, disciplinary action, and performance improvement plans with direct, open communication.
  • Ensures staff attend and pass Ambulatory Skills Orientation as required.
  • Analyzes reports, prepares summaries, and plans improvements for financial results, clinic productivity, and operational benchmarks.
  • Oversees registration, scheduling, and provider template functions in coordination with Corporate Central Access.
