Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher to manage instruction, progress tracking, and discipline for assigned classes. You will prepare written lesson plans, apply modern teaching methods, and use available instructional materials to foster student learning across grade levels.

The role requires Illinois teaching licensure (PEL/ELS) and successful completion of student teaching. You will communicate with families and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance classroom

Qualifications

• Must have completed student teaching and coursework for Illinois teaching certificate.
• Valid PEL or ELS license endorsed for the position.
• Knowledge of contemporary teaching methods and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and write lesson plans aligned to instructional objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Communicate with parents about academic progress, attendance and conduct.
• Participate in in-service and professional staff meetings; implement new teaching techniques.
• Supervise extra-curricular activities and coordinate field trips where applicable.
